ActivePresenter Free is a freeware (or freemium) screen recording application that records activity on your desktop in an easy way.
The application features a clean interface that includes a few interesting options when it comes to screen recording including recording the entire screen or just a selected region. The welcome screen presents you with a few templates for creating presentations or just jumping right into the screen capture capabilities of the program.
For capturing, ActivePresenter can record a webcam or other video input along with an audio stream. That's on top of recording what you see on your desktop.
In terms of editing tools, the program can do things like inserting images into videos, cutting and trimming them, crop, split, merge and insert frames.
The program isn't just a screen recording application; it's also something of a PowerPoint-type presentation program which can add videos and slides to a presentation project.
With that in mind, ActivePresenter is capable of creating tutorials and presentations. There are a number of customization options available for many of the elements like colors, shadows and drawing.
The final output of projects in ActivePresenter Free can be exported as a video file in formats like AVI, WMV and MP4.

ActivePresenter Free can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It's only available as a 64-bit download.
